Wet weekend weather, sunshine returns by Monday
Happy Friday! I'm looking forward to this weekend. I'm a fan of gloomy weather, and that's exactly what we will be seeing. Sorry, sunshine lovers! We've got two things to watch, moisture from the south and an approaching cold front sweeping through the Midwest.

The later it gets today, the higher the rain chances. It depends on how quickly that moisture around the gulf oozes northward. Expect showers and storms this evening, but they may be less widespread than originally thought.
Expect periodic rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day Saturday. There will be plenty of breaks in the rainfall throughout the day.
Rain coverage and confidence really ramps up Sunday, as the cold front moves through the Tennessee Valley. I think this will be the wettest day out of the weekend. Winds also may be a little gusty throughout the day Sunday and Monday. We are not looking at a threat of severe weather Sunday at this time.
Pretty much all models have us dry by Monday, but I'm holding onto a stray lingering shower or two in case the front slows down. We will feel a difference in temperatures and dew point with this frontal passage. Expect nothing but sunshine for the rest of the week, temperatures in the upper 70s to mid 80s by the end of the week, and lows in the 50s some nights! Autumn, is that you?
