Storms to start the week, then the heat cranks up
Storm chances this afternoon are trending less and less widespread. Nonetheless, scattered chances remain through the overnight hours. A few storms could be strong with heavy rain and gusty winds. Thanks to these storms, afternoon temps stay in the mid 80s. I'm including snapshots from the HRRR model, which shows increasing storm chances later in the evening for North Alabama. Best chances are along or south of the Tennessee River overnight.
Afternoon storm chances continue Tuesday, but storms will be much less numerous in nature. No severe weather is expected. We will see more sunshine Tuesday, so highs will be a touch warmer, close to 90°. A stray shower cannot be ruled out Wednesday as the cold front inches closer to the Tennessee Valley. Rain chances increase overnight Wednesday, but then the atmosphere dries out Thursday as the cold front moves through.
This front will not knock temperatures much, but dew points will take a slight hit for Friday. With that being said, get ready for some serious heat.

Triple digits are in the 7 day forecast for us here in the Tennessee Valley. This warming trend begins Friday, and rain chances remain low as the heat cranks up. Be mindful if you're already thinking about weekend plans. I would recommend you stay indoors if possible. We'll keep an eye on these temps as we get closer to the weekend.
