Our Alabama and Mississippi counties have been upgraded to a Level 2 of 5 risk of severe storms for today, and our Tennessee counties remain in a Level 1 of 5 risk.
All of the Tennessee Valley Weather coverage area is in some type of risk of severe storms for this afternoon and evening.
The main overall window of opportunity is about 1:00pm-10:00pm. If a storm goes severe, the main threat is gusty straight-line winds to 60 mph. The tornado threat is very near zero (it never is all the way zero if there is a severe thunderstorm).
We will have updates through the day as conditions warrant.
