Several rain chances this week. Warm and windy, could we reach 80°?
I hope the start to your week has been fantastic. It's certainly off to a gloomy start, pesky clouds will hang around for much of the week. The three main takeaways from this week's forecast are the rain chances, the wind, and the huge temperature swing we're expecting.
You can plan on a few passing showers for the remainder of today. Highs in the upper 60s will fall into the 50s overnight. Showers will not be widespread and there will be several dry periods, but the next few days each hold their own rain chances. A few showers are possible Tuesday throughout the day, as well as Wednesday. The *best* chance for rain comes Wednesday night, but even at that, I'll give it a 50% at best.
Aside from a lingering shower or two Thursday morning, we dry out for a whole day! Don't get used to it, more rain moves in Friday and through the weekend. Before we get to the weekend, however, we will have a notable temperature chance. We go from low 80s (yes, you read that correctly) to the mid 40s within about 12 hours. If you're like me, get the Tylenol ready for weather-related aches and pains for the end of the week.
Another important part of the forecast to highlight is the wind. Sustained winds are forecast
around 20-25 mph, and wind gusts, as seen by our in house Baron model, could be as strong as 40 mph. That's strong enough for you to need to keep close tabs on your backyard furniture, but no serious issues are anticipated. Strongest winds are expected Wednesday afternoon and evening across the Tennessee Valley.
High temps this week will take us on quite the rollercoaster ride. We are currently on the way to the top toward the big drop off. Upper 60s Tuesday, upper 70s Wednesday, and finally reaching the low 80s before taking the big drop.
