Rain showers tonight. The cold weather is here to stay for a bit.

It's been a quaint start to the day on this fine, warmer-than-it-has-been Monday across the

Tennessee Valley. Rain is on the move, though and we will get a nice steady rain tonight into tomorrow morning. Until then, we will enjoy temperatures in the lower 50s. Clouds will move in gradually throughout the rest of today if they already haven't done so. Rain showers will not begin until after 7-8 p.m. Some rain may be heavy at times, but tonight's rain is more of a steady-moderate type with a few breaks here and there. Showers will taper off by mid-morning and we all should be dry by the afternoon.

Throughout the rest of the week, we will be pretty dry and the sky will have a nice mixture of sun and clouds. A small bout of snow looks to brush northern middle Tennessee late Wednesday night. I'll keep an eye out to make sure that stays away from us. (:

Unfortunately, the cold temperatures are here to stay for the week ahead. Afternoon temps don't warm past the upper 40s at best. Low temps will be frigid, especially toward the end of the week. Rain chances after Tuesday afternoon are sparse.
