Rain and storms throughout the week, with a little relief from the heat this weekend.
Keep your umbrellas out because scattered showers and thunderstorms are here to stay this week. Other than storms, today will feel very muggy with partly cloudy skies, temperatures peaking in the 80s, and then dropping to the mid 60s tonight.
If you’re an early bird, you might run into some foggy conditions on Tuesday morning while going into town or dropping your kids off before 8am. Temperatures Tuesday will peak in the upper 70s to lower 80s across the region. There is also a higher chance for showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday, especially in the afternoon. A few storms could be on the stronger side, so be on the lookout for lightning and have a plan to move indoors.
Thankfully, the rain and storms mostly clear up by Wednesday and Thursday and we will see a little relief from the summer-like heat. You might see some showers and storms early Wednesday morning but otherwise, it is expected to be partly cloudy with temperatures only reaching the 70s and dropping into the 50s that night. Thursday there is a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms, otherwise it will be mostly dry. Temps will be similar Thursday, compared to Wednesday.
Moving on to this weekend, we see a split between rainy and dry days. Friday, temperatures will peak in the upper 70s to lower 80s. A cold front is expected to move across the region either Friday evening or Saturday morning, which brings with it cooler temperatures. Unfortunately, the cooler temperatures come with a trade-off and we have showers and storms on Friday and Saturday. Friday night, temperatures drop to the upper 50s and lower 60s. Showers stick around through the night so it’s the perfect weather for sleeping. Sunday looks like a much better day for us with partly cloudy skies and high temperatures in the 70s that drops to the cool lower 50s later that night. It’ll feel less muggy outside by Sunday, too.
