Cold front moving in this weekend brings us storms and relatively cooler conditions.

I hope everyone is having a great day. Lately the weather has been consistently wet and stormy with high temperatures staying in the 70s to 80s range and falling into the 60s at night. So far this week, scattered showers and thunderstorms have been persistent. Unsettled weather will continue, but we will also catch a few dry periods over the next few days.

Today, there is a slight chance for showers and storms, mainly in North Alabama. While we can’t rule out a stray shower or storm in Tennessee, you can expect mostly dry conditions there. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s today and it’s expected to gradually become more sunny this afternoon, mainly in Tennessee. Tonight, temps will fall to the 50s and sky will be mostly clear.

Don’t put your rain gear away yet, scattered showers and storms return again on Thursday so I would recommend staying indoors. You definitely don’t have to spend time outdoors to have fun so pop some popcorn, grab a cozy blanket, and put on a great movie. Other than the storms, temperatures are expected to be similar to today so the weather will feel very muggy due to the saturated air.

Moving on to Friday, we get another brief break from the rain, until the evening comes around. It’s expected to be partly cloudy with temperatures peaking in the upper 70s. A cold front is expected to move across the region Friday night into Saturday.

This weekend, the cold front gives us some relief from the heat on Saturday and temperatures are expected to peak in the mid 70s. Unfortunately, the cold front comes with a bit of a trade-off and also brings back the storms as early as Friday night. Those showers and storms will linger into Saturday morning. However, don’t let the stormy weather rain on your parade. Instead, read a good book or bring out the board games. That night, we can really see the effects of the cold front as temperatures are expected to drop into the 50s which is 10 degrees lower than we have been experiencing. Sunday looks much drier with partly cloudy skies and temperatures similar to Saturday. It will be perfect weather for going to church or running errands.

Moving on to the beginning of next week, we have dry conditions and partly cloudy skies for both Monday and Tuesday. The warmer temperatures make a rebound and the effects from the cold front start to wear off. We are back in the upper 70s and lower 80s for both Monday and Tuesday and temperatures fall during the night to the 60s. We may be able to squeeze out a rogue shower or storm both days, but the chances are slim.

Overall, the weather jumps between wet and dry for the remainder of this week. Temperatures are expected to stay similar to what we’ve been experiencing lately, until the weekend due to the effects of a cold front moving across the region. So far next week there’s a low chance for showers and storms and the temperature goes back to what we’ve been seeing.
