Chilly today, but milder weather ahead. Dry until the weekend.

It's been a beautiful Monday afternoon, with mostly sunny skies. Just a few high clouds here and there on our Skycam Network this afternoon. Temperatures are mostly in the low to mid 50s across the area, but we have milder (if not downright warmer) weather coming for the rest of the week after today.

Clear skies will allow temperatures to fall back quickly into the 40s and upper 30s during the evening hours, but we only look to bottom out in the mid 30s or so by daybreak on Tuesday as southerly winds mix the atmosphere a little bit. Mostly sunny skies continue for Tuesday, and this begins our warming pattern, with afternoon highs areawide in the low to possibly middle 60s.

The warming pattern continues through the rest of the week as a general southwest flow sets up across the area. Highs on Wednesday climb into the mid 60s areawide, and we make a run for 70 degrees by Thursday and Friday. The next disturbance begins to bring showers back to the area for Saturday, with even better rain chances Sunday and Sunday night as the next cold front approaches with another shot of quick-hitting cooler air. It's still open for changes, but current indications are that it may quickly turn back around to warmer weather next week after that Sunday night into Monday cold front.
