A nice break from the unsettled pattern before more rain this weekend.

Good Wednesday to you. This gloomy weather has really been making it feel like autumn in the Tennessee Valley, despite temperatures remaining in the 80s. More gloomy weather is ahead for us, but not before fantastic weather Thursday.

Here is the hourly planner for the rest of your Wednesday. Temperatures don't get warmer than the mid 80s, and storm chances end after 6 p.m. We clear out and cool down overnight into the lower 60s. There will be some patchy dense fog overnight and early Thursday morning.

Thursday is looking fantastic. Expect highs in the mid to upper 80s, with comfortable dew points in the upper 50s. While a bit on the warmer side, Thursday will feel like a nice fall day. No rain chance to worry about until we get to Friday. That's when a soggy, unsettled pattern sets in. The rain will start after about noon Friday. There will be periodic breaks throughout the weekend, but rain chances remain high through Sunday night, as a cold front system pushes through. Models predict about an inch of rain over the course of four days, but locally higher rainfall amounts are always possible.

Rain chances do not decrease much overnight, so keep that in mind this weekend. Temperatures stay in the low 80s, and highs in the upper 70s are not out of the question early next week. The cold front will knock down temperatures and dew points. The middle of next week looks nothing but fantastic.
